The research group on History of Language and Standard Language from the University of Girona promotes these conferences and in recent years has contributed decisively to the singling out of the History of Language as a linguistic discipline. From an interdisciplinary perspective, the group’s research uses contributions from the field of literature, social history or other disciplines apparently far away as sociology, psychology or philosophy of language.
