Commercial fish species with affinity for cold waters are currently in a particularly vulnerable situation in relatively temperate seas and oceans. These fish species are threatened not only by overfishing but also by increasing sea temperatures, which have been found to have synergistic effects. Within this context, accurate assessments of life-history traits of fish become essential for a better understanding of how fish can cope with sea warming and how management of fisheries can be improved.
