Conference topics

1. Risk, emancipation and youths: This debates focuses on the main aspects of the emancipation process: primarily housing and the difficulties associated with obtaining it, the challenges of establishing new domestic units, the risks related to not having or having work, and depending on what kind of work, etc. Basically economic emancipation and emancipation from the family.

2. Risk, health and youths: All those aspects related to “lifestyles” that influence in one way or another the physical and psychological balance and wellbeing of youths are addressed. An attempt will be made to ascertain to what extent presumably risky associations among these lifestyles and certain behaviours (sexual, food related and others) respond to objective criteria, to specific points of view (adult, institutional, etc.), and whether that masks other possible interpretations of these lifestyles, etc.

3. Risk, leisure and youths: The debate will be focused on both the risks and the opportunities inherent in leisure time activities, such as issues related with consumption and socialisation. Included in this topic are commercial and non-commercial leisure, professional and amateur sporting activities, cultural activities, as well as issues related to the media and new technologies.

4. Risk, cohabitation and youths: This debate will explore the difficulties and challenges of different types of cohabitation, from the most creative and synergistic, to different kinds of violence and the challenges posed by the intercultural relationships of today’s youth.
