The course aims to strengthen students’ knowledge about the concept of landscape and the way of doing landscape research. Special attention will be paid to the use of methods of both physical and cultural landscape studies in unified landscape research. After the course students will have a better understanding of the complexity of the concept of landscape and better facility to study different landscapes. The course also gives students competencies to carry out research in a multi-national group situation.
The number of participants on the course is limited about ten students from every University: University of Eastern Finland (Finland) & Univeristat de Girona (Catalonia) and Prešov University (Slovakia).
We have the economic support of the European Union: Intensive Program (2010 – 2012): The faces of landscape: North Karelia, Prešov Region and Catalonia (FACESLAND).
In 2012 two-weeks intensive course in Prešov: include lectures, excursions, field works, discussions and seminars. The students will finish course reports after the intensive weeks. The students will work in five multinational research groups with 6 students in each.
